Sense of Belonging
At AFC
At AFC, we believe the concept of membership (we also like calling our membership, discipleship) is biblical. Union with Christ, which happens at an instance, is when we make a commitment to Christ through conversion (which means, you have left one aspect of your life to join with Christ, and experience another and sustaining aspect of a new and different life) and be part of Christ’s church. This “positional” membership is eternal, and unchanging. However, the Bible also urges “Positional Members” to continue growing by becoming “Participating Members” in a specific local assembly such as the one here at AFC. Participating Members are the core that can be counted on in fulfilling the mission and purpose of AFC. Our participating members moves out from the vague clouds of good intentions and into the clear light of committed participation. In this sense, membership can be a significant “defining moment” in one’s spiritual journey.
Being committed to Jesus Christ and becoming more like Christ is an amazing spiritual journey and it’s what Participating Members at Agape Fellowship Church is all about.
