Our Values

GOSPEL

We believe the anointed teachings is the catalyst for social transformation in individuals’ lives. This includes the concept of relational evangelism—Romans 12:7, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, James 1:23-25.

We believe that lost and curious people matter to God first, and therefore ought to matter to AFC—Luke 5:30-32, Luke 15, Matthew 18:14.

We believe the Gospel is culturally relevant and inclusive. This includes the concept of sensitively relating to our culture through our facility, communications, and use of art—1 Corinthians 9:19-23, Galatians 3:28.

We believe that the pursuit of full devotion to Christ and His cause is normal for every believer. This includes the concepts of stewardship, discipleship, servanthood, cultural humility, and the pursuit of kingdom goals—1 Kings 11:4, 2 Corinthians 8:7.

KIDS

We believe children and youth matters to Jesus significantly, and therefore ought to matter to AFC—Matthew 19:14.

We believe that the church should operate as a unified community of servants with men and women stewarding and pouring into the lives of our youth for continuous growth—1 Corinthians 12 and 14, Romans 12, Ephesians 4, Psalm 133:1.

COMMUNITY

We believe that life-change happens best in small groups. This includes the concept of Life Groups, discipleship, relationship-building, vulnerability, and accountability—Luke 6: 12-13, Acts 2: 42-47.

We believe that the church must operate from the social gospel tradition and meet people where they are holistically—mind, body, and spirit. This includes the concept of empowerment, servant leadership, community outreach, strategic focus, and intentionality—Nehemiah 1-2, Romans 12:8, Acts 6:2-5.

We believe that loving relationships should permeate every aspect of church and community life. This includes the concept of a love-driven ministry, diversity, and multiculturalism—1 Corinthians 13, Nehemiah 3, John 13: 34-35.
